Architecture is
getting alive! Architecture is on the way to a self-supported autonomous life-form. Since the beginnings of electricity and cable-networks, architecture develops a nervous system of its own - for communication and for life support. When the development of architecture is similar to other biological life-forms, there will be two consequences: First Architecture will be seperable into species, as other life forms are today. Parallels to the development of biological species will be evident. And second, there will be a categorized system of intelligent buildings in a functional typology. In this functional typology we can perceive a consistent genealogy of intelligent buildings. Therefore families of intelligent buildings can be perceived, families with similar characteristics and behaviour, with genetic defined advantages and disadvantages. What a fascinating thought!
